On December 15, 2022, New York State Governor Kathy Hochul signed the bill to shut down the puppymill pipeline which bans the sale of dogs, cats and rabbits in retail pet stores in the state. This bill will go into effect two years after the bill was signed - December 2024.
If you would like to be a bunny guardian:
1. Do your research - Learn how to properly take care of rabbits.
2. Contact a local bunny rescue or animal shelter and adopt.
Rabbits are not:
1. Starter pets.
2. Toys.
3. Things to be dumped or "released outside."
They are a life long (their life 8-12 years) commitment.
